I purchased several Garmin TOPO maps on SD cards and have been able to load & use them on my laptop using BaseCamp. However, there doesn't seem to be any way to transfer the map database from the SD card to the micro SD card in my Garmin Rino 650t. Garmin tech support says this sort of map database transfer is not allowed due to piracy issues. But, I thought the whole point of BaseCamp was to allow the user to preplan their outdoor adventure at home on their laptop. If the preplanned routes, waypoints, & map database can't be downloaded into the handheld device; then, what's the point? Is Garmin tech support giving me a correct answer? How is a user supposed to have the same map database on BaseCamp as well their handheld GPS device? Is there some documentation on how to manipulate these files between devices?
