I need a GPS for one specific wilderness area. Because its use is only for that area my GPS needs are minimal. Here they are.

Must be able to use it without any need for Wi-Fi or cellular coverage.

Do not need any routes or maps.

It only needs to do the following:

- Do a good job of acquiring satellites.
- Automatically create a waypoint for current position
- Manually create a waypoint for any position
- Edit an existing waypoint (e.g. its name, coordinates)
- Delete a waypoint
- Be able to store multiple waypoints
- display distance and direction from current position to another waypoint
- track (guide you to) a given waypoint via constant updating of distance/direction
- display a compass

It would probably need some sort of Settings function to adjust time/date, show battery status, etc.

Smaller sized devices are preferred. Are any wearable?

Also, I've seen the term "bread crumb tracker" in the literature. I'm not sure whether they are a separate kind of device or a minimal-capability GPS device. Would this kind of device cover all the needs I listed above?

I'd appreciate any input or suggestions for a simple GPS device that covers my needs. I realize that most GPS devices will cover my needs and a lot more.I could probably tolerate one of them as long as the "lot more support" doesn't get in my way. For example making the GUI harder to use and making the device bigger and heavier.

TIA

Just about any entry level handheld will give you those features all be it maybe the compass , fairly standard stuff, once you start getting into an electronic compass then there starts to be other options that may be of little to no interest?
