I loaded a decent amount of caches on my Legend. But I don't always want to see the caches on the screen. Is there a way to turn off those specific icons so the screen doesn't get cluttered?

The declutter option doesn't seem to address this.

It's part of normal operation.. Only way to declutter, is to remove the POI waypoints..

I generally load caches in small amounts, using a program like EasyGPS, then wipe the caches out of memory of the GPS once I've either found, or DNF'ed them.

I still have a literal "Ring" of caches located 10 miles east of me, I have yet to go looking for.. Somewhere up to the north-east, there should be a good 4 more... no ideas why they're not listed locally.. (I'll have to check again.

The Declutter option, is more for random track data (you're not moving, but suddenly, it drifts a few feet away, then back, then away again, then back.) this prevents a "Star" pattern of random tracks, deleting the drift track recorded, within a few seconds, to prevent overflowing the track log.

"Declutter" reduces the amount of "fine detail" displayed on the map (street names, contour labels, etc). I don't believe it has any impact on the recording or display of track-points due to "drift" etc. Track display can be turned "on" or "off", but if they are turned "on", they will be fully displayed. The frequency of recording track points is controlled by other unit settings, NOT by "declutter".

Hope this helps!

Another way of decluttering would be to load your caches as POI's. You would not see any of the caches till you zoomed in on the area.
