hi.
i just got the 60csx as a gift from my brother
i plan to use it primarily for hiking in national parks but also for the occassional driving (i live in NYC...dont drive much).

thing is, although i have a PC, i primarily use my Mac. the national parks trails software only comes in windows based (my mac is too old to run windows smoothly), so my brother got me the PC parks maps. BUT...he also got me the USA street maps (garmin) in the MAC based version.

Do you think i shoudl return the mac version for PC? Is there any reason why i would need those maps on the same computer? do the maps overlay? im really new to using this gps.

Also- does anyone know when the parks maps will be mac based?
thanks a ton.

I've been buying the PC versions of the maps even though I use a Mac now almost exclusively. The Garmin map conversion works very well. You can convert the PC based maps to the Mac but not the other way around. I use my Mac for all of my USB Garmins and my PC for the serial ones. Once my serial units become obsolete for my use, I'll switch.

I prefer Garmin's Bobcat to MapSource these days.
