I have set 18 waypoints, one on the center of each green.

When I try to Navigate the route I get the wrong yardage.

How do I get the GPS to look for each waypoint in the order I placed them?

Thanks for any ideas.

Have you created a route with these waypoints?

Yes. The default name is PS1-PS18 or something like that.

I highlight that with the joy stick, then go to the Navigate "button" and press the joy stick.

Then I select the Navigate screen to show the yardage.

Do I need to tell it anything else when starting?

Thanks,

Monte

This may be of help Working with Routes (link)

Also it would help if you can say which model of the Legend you have and what maps are installed.

I don't see anything other then Garmin eTrex Legend GPS unit. MFG Part # is 0075375903018.

Bought in Aug, 2007.

The only map is what it came with.

I'll go check out that link you sent.

Ah, that like **may** have given me what I needed. It seems that the GPS does not look for the way points in a route "in order" but rather by what is closest. This would explain the silly yardages I get!

I guess that about all I can do is just click on each waypoint (not using the Route feature) as needed to get the yardage for that hole. That's what I have been doing but it's a PIA!

I wonder if anyone has figured out how to force the unit to look for waypoints in order?

Thanks again.

I off now getting ready for bed!
