I have 2 Lowrance chartplotters

GlobalMap 5300
HDS5m

They come with different power / data cables

The HDS5m comes with a combined power and data cable RS422/RS232 one transmit pair TX+/TX- and one receive pair RX+/RX- (NMEA 0183)

The 5300 comes with a NMEA 2000 power/data cable

Q1. Are these cables interchangeable?

I want to connect to a NMEA 0183 hub

I note that there is a NMEA 0183 data cable available for the 5300

Has anyone any experience of using this connection

Thanks

Regards
